Mississippi Candidate Still Showing Her Colors

Repost from The Daily Kos

Republican who made 'lynching' joke has photo surface of her rocking some Confederate gear

Hyde_Smith_Confederate.jpg
Republican bigot Cindy Hyde-Smith’s runaway victory for the last Senate seat in Mississippi has hit a bunch of obstacles in the final weeks, leading up to her November 27, runoff against Democrat Mike Espy. The names of those obstacles are that Cindy Hyde-Smith is a racist, with a shitty sense of humor, and she’s probably a completely incompetent person. A couple of weeks ago Hyde-Smith made a “lynching” joke, exposing a variety of corporate interests for their support of white supremacy—the only true supporters of Republican ideals. She then “joked” about suppressing black people’s vote—in Mississippi once again. Cindy Hyde-Smith’s newest bit of news is a Facebook post she wrote back in 2014, touring Confederate “president” Jefferson Davis’s home.
I enjoyed my tour of Beauvoir. The Jefferson Davis Home and Presidential Library located in Biloxi. This is a must see. Currently on display are artifacts connected to the daily life of the Confederate Soldier including weapons. Mississippi history at its best!

That’s a Confederate hat, because she’s a rebel! A pro-slavery rebel! A pro-slavery, almost destroyed the country we live in, in order to keep an entire race of people subjugated as slaves...rebel!

Atomwaffen: Neo-Nazi Group Linked To 3 Accused Killers

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—

NPR recently published a piece about killings across the country which have resulted in the arrest of neo-Nazi white supremacists. No matter your political lean, the nascent manifestation of overt white supremacy directly coincides with the proliferation of Donald Trump. We are not positing Trump is a white supremacist despite a history which indicates inclination of personal racism which spans well beyond common American bigotry.

After the following video of a recent white supremacist rally (tiny crowd) in Michigan, we offer a Propublica piece with evidence of growing hate based killings perpetrated by American white supremacists. The aforementioned NPR piece immediately follows the video.

WGNO (ABC News affiliate)

NPR (lede paragraphs)
At first glance, five killings in three states since last May appeared to be unrelated, isolated cases.
But a common thread is emerging. Three young men have been charged, and all appear to have links to the same white supremacist group: the Atomwaffen Division.

Atomwaffen, Extremist Group Whose Members Have Been Charged in Five Murders, Loses Some of Its Platforms

At least four technology companies have taken steps to bar Atomwaffen Division, a violent neo-Nazi organization, from using their online services and platforms to spread its message or fund its operations.

The action comes after ProPublica reports detailing the organization’s terrorist ambitions and revealing that the California man charged with murdering Blaze Bernstein, a 19-year-old college student found buried in an Orange County park earlier this year, was an Atomwaffen member.

Activists and journalists with other media outlets have criticized the tech firms — among them chat services, web merchants, social media channels and gaming platforms — for enabling the outfit, which has members in 23 states and Canada, records show.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s happened since ProPublica reported on Feb. 23 that chat logs used by Atomwaffen showed members celebrating Bernstein’s murder. Bernstein was gay and Jewish, and Atomwaffen members took to calling his accused killer, Samuel Woodward, a “one man gay Jew wrecking crew.”

Discord
Discord was designed to allow video gamers to communicate with one another while immersed in multiplayer online games, but over the past year it has been co-opted by white supremacists who have used it to share bomb-making manuals, plot the violent confrontations in Charlottesville, Virginia, and, in the case of Atomwaffen, revel in the killing of Bernstein.

Scattered across the country, Atomwaffen members relied on Discord to disseminate confidential information and make organizational plans.

After ProPublica obtained more than 250,000 Discord messages posted by Atomwaffen members and reprinted excerpts of those messages as part of our Feb. 23 article, Discord quickly shut down the group’s server.

Discord’s terms of service “specifically prohibit harassment, threatening messages, or calls to violence,” the company said in an emailed statement to ProPublica. “There were a handful of servers that violated these ToS recently and were swiftly removed from the platform. We will continue to be aggressive to ensure that Discord exists for the community we set out to support — gamers."

YouTube and Steam
Atomwaffen had long posted its propaganda videos, which are full of violent imagery and racist messaging, on YouTube, where the group had its own channel. Then Motherboard, the Daily Beast, and the Anti-Defamation League took on the video-sharing giant.

As the Daily Beast noted, Atomwaffen seemed to be in clear violation of YouTube’s policy on hate speech, which bans videos made with “the primary purpose of inciting hatred against individuals or groups based on certain attributes, such as: race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation/gender identity.”

At first, YouTube balked at pulling down the videos, which call for “race war now” and the mass murder of Jews. But on Feb. 28, the company reversed its position and terminated the Atomwaffen channel.

Still, a second channel maintained by the group, SIEGEtv, which promotes Nazi ideology, is online and active.

Motherboard, an arm of Vice Media, also discovered that there was an Atomwaffen group on the community discussion board of Steam, a gaming platform.

“The group only has 17 members, but their accounts are a disturbing grab bag of Nazi imagery and Atomwaffen-style propaganda,” Motherboard reported. “The group’s description section clearly states its racist worldview. One member has used the screen name ‘PURE ARYAN 100%,’ and uses a photo of South Carolina mass murderer Dylann Roof as his avatar.”

Valve, the parent company of Steam, has deleted the group.

Inktale
Until recently, Atomwaffen used Inktale, an online t-shirt retailer, to fund its operations through the sale of Nazi-themed t-shirts. Shirt designs celebrated figures like Charles Manson and Atomwaffen’s ideological inspiration, longtime Nazi James Mason. (The t-shirt with Mason’s image read “Give hate a chance.”)

On Feb. 24, Twitter users began confronting the company.
The next day Inktale quit selling the shirts.

The company told ProPublica that “Inktale reserves the right to review, and if necessary remove, any content from the site.“

“In this case, the user in question violated part 3 of the Acceptable Content Policy (https://inktale.com/content-policy), thus their profile and products were deleted.”

The on-demand t-shirt printer said it has systems in place to keep organizations like Atomwaffen from using its services, “but we also appreciate anyone reporting inappropriate content to our team from the outside, and we take such claims very seriously.”

Cloudflare
The San Francisco-based company provides anti-hack protection to two Atomwaffen websites: AtomwaffenDivision.org and SiegeCulture.com. As part of that protection, Cloudflare obscures the name of the hosting company providing Atomwaffen with space on the internet.

Cloudflare, which sells services to some 7 million websites, said it has no control over the content on those sites and doesn’t plan to stop doing business with Atomwaffen. From the company’s perspective, it’s up to the web hosts, domain registrars and ISPs to decide if they want to yank Atomwaffen’s sites, said Cloudflare general counsel Doug Kramer.

“We don’t want to be put in the position of being judge and jury on our own,” said Kramer, noting the struggles of much larger outfits like YouTube and Facebook to identify unacceptable content. “We’ve seen that we get some legitimate complaints and we get some that aren’t on the up-and-up — that are people going after other people with whom they disagree.”
However, on at least one occasion, Cloudflare has cut ties with a Nazi site: In August 2017, days after the deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, the company ousted The Daily Stormer, an avowedly racist and anti-Semitic news site.

“Earlier today, Cloudflare terminated the account of the Daily Stormer,” wrote CEO Matthew Prince on the company’s blog at the time. “Our terms of service reserve the right for us to terminate users of our network at our sole discretion. The tipping point for us making this decision was that the team behind Daily Stormer made the claim that we were secretly supporters of their ideology.”

Kramer stressed that members of the public concerned about Atomwaffen’s websites can use Cloudflare’s abuse form to anonymously report the sites, and that Cloudflare will notify the owners or web hosts.

That system was reformed last May in the wake of a ProPublica report revealing that people were being harassed and threatened after complaining to Cloudflare about hate sites, including The Daily Stormer. At the time, the company was sharing the personal information of the complainants with the racist sites.

“From this day forward it’s going to be only America first.” Trump (January 20, 2017)

Your President?

With that short clip duly noted, let's move to action behind his words.

During last week's immigration meeting in the White House, Trump responded to comments about non-white (nation) immigration in a most racist manner.

The Independent.co.uk
“Why are we having all these people from s***hole countries come here?”
He asked to know why the US would not instead accept people from places like Norway, whose prime minister he had met with the day before.
After a day or two of protest and condemnation, Trump took to his favorite communication media and did this.

AMERICA FIRST!

Alas, words to American stated to place or mitigate concern for Trump's racism.  Alos words which without question are pleasing tot he ears of white supremacist, Nazis, and various other social degenerates.

Image may contain: text

While all media other than Fox News, various conservative media and far-right nutcase broadcasting like Info Wars find Trump's remarks abhorrent and shameful, none have yet spoken more eloquently than a segment broadcast last night on CNN.

The segment runs for eight full minutes, but it is critical to hear and see perspectives on Trump's comments with consideration of a future America.

An Under Current Of Disaster Going Unchecked

Whether you believe the US is developing a dangerous sub-culture of white supremacy or you don't believe such, there is growing evidence, if you pay attention.

Recall Charlottesville Virginia: "Jews Will Not Replace Us!"

Another existential reality. Growth and proliferation of such groups have increased over time, with what seems an exponential burst of supremacist social regression as Trumpism has developed.

Have you noticed the presence of a popular Internet caricature, Pepe The Frog, turned a symbol of white supremacy?

Another symbolic manifestation of US White is a hand gesture which delivers a message to any "knowing" observer.

We have seen the signal flashed among a few too many White House staffers to refuse to accept its flashing is far more than a coincidence or a "cool" gesture. https://youtu.be/NhknGCROhFU

Speaking of the White House.

Alas, someone caught the gesture at this past weekend's Trump Mar-A-Lago festivities.

brat at Mar-A-Lago New Year's Eve gala.
The following video segments are critical to understanding the reality of growing US white supremacy. The NBC news guest, Christian Picciolini, is a former white supremacist who has taken to appearing on national TV shows (e.g. 60 Minutes) to disavow, repudiate and posit against and reject his 8 years as a supremacist.

The segments represent a short one-minute version of the 13 minute NBC appearance. The second video is the full segment. As you watch NBC's nascent host Megyn Kelly, conduct the interview, you will notice a clear effort to question the veracity of Fox News as a purveyor of racism. Lest we forget one video segment of Kelly clearly espousing racism and a degree of supremacy regarding an African-American writer's comments about Santa Clause being black.  Comments which fall the realm of Santa as a mythical character from the minds of people who rejoice and celebrate Christmas. Thus the black writer had every right to speak to kids in her community from a position of pure mystic and perception via young minds. Kelly White Santa, white Jesus.  After a few days of unannounced "vacation", Kelly reappeared with what Fox News management must have felt properly addressed Kelly's racist comments about Santa. As you view the embed you will notice a few items which fit Fox News's business model to the letter.  Kelly feigned "tongue in cheek" remarks. Kelly offered the totally implausible regarding joking with kids. She would joke about "white" Santa at 10:00PM EST to what audience of kids? Do parents actually allow their kids to sit and watch Fox News at 10:00PM.  One other matter, notice the "in-your-face" advertisement for the "powerful" Fox News.

Kelly's defensive remarks spoke volumes about the underlying broadcast ideology at Fox News.

Racism and white supremacy aren't always shrouded in a white robe and hood. We offered Fox News as the nation's top purveyor of cable news mind-shaping which often touches on conservatism which in turn exist with much more intolerance of things nonwhite than other political ideology. Megyn Kelly defense of her former employer still sits as a psychic brand she will not and cannot shed.

Let's now visit with Kelly and her guest.  We hope you watched the 13 minutes 60 Minutes segment liked above.

Long Version

If you continue to shield your psyche form growing US racism and white supremacy, you actually enable its growth. It is unfortunate but your affinity for and closely aligned with US conservatism means you should take extraordinary steps to rid the nation of a disease which history shows contribute to nation killing.

While it isn't fair to say: "All Republicans are racist."
It is fair to say:"Racist who are political align with the Republican Party."

White Supremacist Again Torchlight The Charlottesville Lee Statue

The Daily Beast and other media are reporting on a second Charlottesville visit form white supremacist Richard Spencer and his band of modern day Nazis.

While the torchlight visit to the Lee statue didn't include the more common display of Nazi flags, the sentiment is nonetheless alive and well.  Here is one image from the first statue march.

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN: A US Under Siege Via Flawed Social Ideology And Associated Dogma (VIDEO)

Despite the reality of posts about White Supremacy receives far less readership on this page, we will persist.

Now for the Charlottesville murderer.

Your common (standard) Neo-Nazi White supremacists traveled a wide and varied path to his murder last weekend. Even while in high school he joined a school group to Germany with a stop at the remains of a concentration camp. He is reported to have commented as such.

AOL News
Excerpts
Aug 14 (Reuters) - James Fields walked into the former Nazi concentration camp in Dachau, Germany, on a school trip two years ago and told a classmate he was "where the magic happened."
At Dachau, Fields looked like "a kid at an amusement park," said the classmate, who asked not to be identified for fear of being targeted.
"He would read excerpts from Mein Kampf, and listen to Nazi propaganda music at night," the classmate told Reuters.
Despite his mother's claims of not-knowing ignorance of her son,. I am hard pressed to accept she is, in fact, not at the core of his racist and anti-Semite inner psyche.

His mother is also claiming to have called police on her son from time to time.

Today, I actually heard a Trump supporting "pastor" suggest media ignore the racist manifestation among some Trump supporters.  I suppose his point was to ignore, they will go away, or maybe ignoring will stifle recruiting.  Typically conservative cognitive misfire.

Let's run through a quick pictorial look at the ideology Fields so worships.

NRA Appeal To White Supremacists

"This post was first published on BillMoyers.com
and developed by BillMoyers.com Staff."

NRA Issues Call for White Supremacy and Armed Insurrection

The gun lobby's new "recruitment ad" is really a call for white supremacy and armed insurrection, deliberately crafted to stir anger and fear.
BY BILL MOYERS AND MICHAEL WINSHIP | JUNE 29, 2017

Take a look at the ad below and ask whether the National Rifle Association can go any lower. Ponder this flagrant call for violence, this insidious advocacy of hate delivered with a sneer, this threat of civil war, this despicable use of propaganda to arouse rebellion against the rule of law and the ideals of democracy.

On the surface this is a recruitment video for the National Rifle Association. But what you are really about to see is a call for white supremacy and armed insurrection, each word and image deliberately chosen to stir the feral instincts of troubled souls who lash out in anger and fear:

Disgusting. Dishonorable. Dangerous. But also deliberate. Everything deplored by the NRA in the ad is committed by “they” — a classic manipulation turning anyone who disagrees with your point of view into “The Other” — something alien, evil, foreign.

“They use their media to assassinate real news,” “They use their schools to teach children that their president is another Hitler,” “They use theirmovie stars and singers and comedy shows and award shows to repeat their narrative over and over again.”

“And then they use their ex-president to endorse the resistance.”

Well, we all know who “they” are, don’t we? This is the vitriol that has been spewed like garbage since the days of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, blasted from lynch mobs and demagogues and fascistic factions of political parties that turn racial and religious minorities into grotesque caricatures, the better to demean and diminish and dominate.

It is the nature of such malevolent human beings to hate those whom they have injured, and the NRA has enabled more injury to more marginalized and vulnerable people than can be imagined. Note how the words “guns” or “firearms” are never mentioned once in the ad and yet we know that the NRA is death on steroids. And behind it are the arms merchants — the gun makers and gun sellers — who profit from selling automatic rifles to deranged people who shoot down politicians playing intramural baseball, or slaughter children in their classrooms in schools named Sandy Hook, or who massacre black folks at Bible study in a Charleston church, or murderously infiltrate a gay nightclub in Orlando.

Watching this expertly produced ad, we thought of how the Nazis produced slick propaganda like this to demonize the Jews, round up gypsies and homosexuals, foment mobs, burn books, crush critics, justify torture and incite support for state violence.

It’s the crack in the Liberty Bell, this ad: the dropped stitch in the American flag, the dregs at the bottom of the cup of freedom. It’s a Trump-sized lie invoked to bolster his base, discredit critics, end dissent. Joseph McCarthy must be smiling in hell at such a powerful incarnation on earth of his wretched, twisted soul.

With this savage ad, every Democrat, every liberal, every person of color, every immigrant or anyone who carries a protest sign or raises a voice in disagreement becomes a target in the diseased mind of some tormented viewer. Heavily armed Americans are encouraged to lock and load and be ready for the ballistic solution to any who oppose the systematic looting of Washington by an authoritarian regime led by a deeply disturbed barracuda of a man who tweets personal insults, throws tantrums and degrades everything he touches.

Look again at the ad. Ask yourself: What kind of fools are they at the NRA to turn America into a killing ground for sport? To be choked with hate is a terrible fate, and it is worst for those on whom it is visited.

Take one more look, and ask: Why do they get away with it? What is happening to us? How long do we have before the fire this time?

Growing US White Supremacy

We recognize US racism is a topic many of our readers avoid reading or read reluctantly but life in America is changing and many are practicing an avoidance demeanor which will bring us back to our past (internationally).

We persevere!

It is a fact there were many many across the span of humankind who may have taken the position of: "Sssshhh, if we draw attention, they will turn on us."
David Himbara former Rwandan head of state
"When they came for Umuhoza Ingabire, I did not speak out; I was not a Hutu."
Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) was a prominent Protestant pastor who emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last seven years of Nazi rule in concentration camps.
Niemöller is perhaps best remembered for the quotation:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
—and there was no one left to speak for me.
And, life has a tendency to repeat itself, if we allow such.
