Kochs Bristle In Response To Real Media

This past September, Rolling Stone published a piece regarding the horrors of the Koch brothers empire.

On September 24th, Tom Dickinson published the pieceInside the Koch Brothers' Toxic Empire, with the following by-line.
Together, Charles and David Koch control one of the world's largest fortunes, which they are using to buy up our political system. But what they don't want you to know is how they made all that money.

By now you should know the Kochs well enough to know they are not only two of the wealthiest men in the world, they also have a desire to reign in US government. They are Libertarian and occupy the far-right hemisphere of Libertarianism. "Libertarianism," an ideology that I strongly feel is conservative with little remaining vestiges of liberalism and individual freedoms. I have yet to meet or read about a Libertarian who manifest actual liberal views. In fact, I more often than not find staunch conservatives, bigots, racist and quick moniker-ed as "libertarian." The Kochs, the Pauls, and Jesse Ventura are classic and without question examples of my contempt for the ideology. But, I digress.

Needless to say, the Kochs took great exception to the Rolling Stone's piece and fired off a response. There is one thing about the Kochs they will dig and manipulate (social and political) dirt by the tons, but do not like having their labor exposed in any manner. They are especially averse to attribution back to their marionette strings lined with shadowy money.

The Kochs responded to Rolling Stone with an obvious post legal brief/public relations diatribe. The diatribe included a direct attack on Tom Dickinson. On September 29th, the surly industrial oligarch's response was addressed by Tom Dickinson: Koch Industries Responds to Rolling Stone – And We Answer Back
"Koch Facts" calls our story "dishonest and misleading." A point-by-point rebuttal.
Read more  (Including this: "The salient feature of Koch's response is that the company does not argue the core facts of our 9,000-word expose. Instead, Koch targets the messenger. Koch's top target here is not even Rolling Stone, but me, Tim Dickinson."
If you are an American who has a deep quest for accurate information and are concerned about growing US oligarchy with the Koch on leading white horses, the "We Answer Back" is classic first class journalism and a refreshing treatise regarding the Wichita oligarchs. Dickinson's 14 point retort to the Koch public relations response is  a must read.

Isn't it amazing the uber wealthy Kochs have continue a US government power grab since David Koch provided money and a body for the 1980 Libertarian party as the vice presidential candidate. An image of the 1980 platform (in brief).

I posit the Kochs have added a few anti-US government items to their List of Oligarchy. If you review the 1980 libertarian Party platform excerpt above, you will easily discern an aversion to any regulatory agencies, polices and monitoring. Haven't we seen and felt enough from laissez-faire GOP: "FREE MARKETS: No regulation." The moniker even wore thin for US conservatives as it was changed post Bush to "FREE MARKETS." When did you last hear or read a Republican speak of "no regulation?"

The Kochs are uncharacteristic in their attention to any article, comment or sentence leveled against them. They are of such privilege, they seem to have never learned that even the filthy rich and obscenely opulent cannot have it "all things Koch."

In 2013, the Koch's public relations squad apparently requested a story correction form MSNBC's Rachel Maddow. Well, the effort did not end as desired with yet another Koch trophy on their PR mantel. Pay particular attention to the segment start and its end starting at the 7:00 minute mark.

Uber wealthy "nation shapers" and "thin-skin (itis)" comes across as a bit of an oxymoron. The Kochs have no worries about scrutiny and criticism from Fox News, CNN, nor either of the major network news shows.

The brothers escape any probing from Sunday Morning news shows as those shows are over-booked with conservatives with the singular focus of Obama Derangement.

First Quarter 2013

Yet, their antennas raise like an angry Cobra with any level of criticism from MSNBC or "unbought' print/online media.

US Media is owned (and directed) by six (6) corporate families. Since 1983, US media have collapsed into corporate families with conservative "overseers." If you think the last statement is a leap, think of any major US corporation that has a documented liberal executive management team. Since, corporations are "not" people and are run by uber wealthy boards of directors and CEOs, the "thought conservatives" run these entities are well within the purview of reality. Additional evidence of Us Media gone Right. Cases in point....

CBS news executives hired David Rhodes, former Fox News exec, to run its news division. Rhodes started his news career out of college at Fox News. I think it safe to assume an anti-progressive paradigm permeates his leadership vision. Hence, Lara Logan's over-the-top lie filled 60 Minutes Benghazi broadcast.

CNN's executive management change to Fred Zucker resulted in an immediate dispatch of all things progressive (Soledad O'Brien, Roland Martin and Ali Velshi as examples) and its "balance" moniker. Have you heard any CNN host speak of "balanced" broadcasting in the past two years? Have you noticed the overwhelming slant towards conservative guest on CNN? The network has full control over who appears on its broadcast segments. Watch to see the extent to which CNN books conservative guest in far greater numbers than progressive guest.

I repeat.
"Yet, their antennas raise like an angry Cobra with any level of criticism from MSNBC or "unbought' print/online media."
Rolling Stone and Dickinson are outside the Octopus grasp of the Kochs. To date, Comcast has not reeled all MSNBC hosts into conservative talking heads (such as Scarborough, Todd, Mitchell). Maddow and Rolling Stone's Dickinson stand as progressive journalist who have not succumbed to growing current event and political entertainment media.

It is delightful to find a couple of real journalist stand against the oligarchs, in a desert of growing subservience to the Kochs and tumbleweed media and politicians rolling around like insect collecting dollars strewn-out for performance,

Bergdahl Reading Ayn Rand, Jared Miller As Libertarian, and Edward Snowden As A Ron Paul Sycophant.

Why are Ayn Rand's writings and Libertarianism so prevalent in our news and current events?

Over the past few years the word "Libertarian or Libertarianism" has eased into the everyday fabric of the nation. An ideology that seems to represent a false premise from its early infancy (In the US) through its current state of being. "Give me the liberty to do whatever I want and give me 100% privacy, I want small government, allow me to deny rights to others and do not charge me any taxes!" The ridiculousness of it all.

Libertarian ideology and the movement seems to attract Americans who seek an idyllic state without realization people destroy ideal states. People turn what could be utopia into movements that can and do attract crackpots and opportunist.  Example, there may have been conservatives who actually thought the Tea Party was going to be good for the nation. Is it a coincidence the very people who started and funded the Tea party are also Libertarian? Wonder those predominately older white Americans who embraced the 2009 Tea Party did so with consideration of existential opportunity for racist groups, militia, and a platform for talk of armed revolution?

A 2010 WISER, University of Washington Institute for Study of Ethnicity, Race and Sexuality, study (poll) delineated a perspective on the Koch Tea Party and, for me at least, a perspective on the many Libertarians.

The data are compelling, and provides a validating foundation for my premise regarding the commonalty of the Tea Party and "so-called" libertarians. Progressives, independents and truly concerned conservatives (all seven of them) should take note. We should take note of the WISER Study and Hullabalo's analyses while contemplating people like Edward Snowden (Ron Paul sycophant), Jared Miller (whacked-out Las Vegas killer embraced Libertarianism among all things anti-US), and guilty via his reading and rumors about his parents: Bowe Bergdahl. Bergdhal's insertion with Snowden and Miller is for sake of points related to libertarianism and fringe elements vs. actual associative linkage.

Hullabalo provides and "easy-to-read" assessment analysis of the charts. My reason for posting the graphics relates much more to modern-day manifestation of young white males perpetrating acts based on ideology that is not only divisive it is negatively effusive.

Libertarian ideology is not only shaping GOP politics, it is influencing society via attracting some who in the long run will be judged as undesirable.

The Kochs via the Tea Party and the 2010 mid-terms shaped federal governance for many years to come.

Let's consider for a second.....

The Kochs gave conceptual birth to and funded the early Tea Party.

The US public has turned on the Tea Party like falling off the face of Mount Rushmore.

Gallup December 13th, 2013
Opinions of the Tea Party Movement Since 2010

As of May 2014, the Koch's assessment of the political environment and current strategy of forsaking the movement are Libertarian.

The Koch brothers have claimed the ideology for many years with only recent declaration from Charles Koch he is not a Libertarian. From David Kochs 1980 vice-presidential run for the White House to nascent mega-million donations to the GOP, Charles Kochs last month commented to the NY Times as follows:
Writes the Times' Nicholas Confessore:
Since 1980, the Republican Party has moved closer to the Koch family’s views on government regulation. Its rising members now court the Kochs and like-minded donors at twice-yearly "seminars" that the brothers organize. In 2012, David Koch was a delegate to the Republican National Convention.
“I think the Republican Party has a great chance of being successful and that’s why I support it,” Mr. Koch told reporters at an American Prosperity reception in Tampa, Fla., that year. “The Libertarian Party is a great concept. I love the ideals, but it got too far off the deep end, and so I dropped out.”
Ron Paul is a Libertarian celebrity. As a 'star' libertarian, he stands as a man who has a history of a disgusting racist newsletter (during the 1990s) and who has been reported as far closer to white supremacist for comfort. I have avoided mention of his mantra of legalizing heroin during times when very young white people are using the substance as a drug of choice. As I re-read the last sentence it looks like I failed to avoid mentioning heroin abuse after all.

Yes, Paul and the Kochs are Libertarian.

My central reason for mentioning Libertarianism relates to a millennial white male demographic group that has denizens who embrace the ideology. There appears an increasing affinity for the ideology among young men who are shaping our world in ways that could prove terminal. Media is reporting this week, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's has a libertarian connection. Bergdahl's parents are reported as libertarian (unable to confirm to date) and the Washington Post and other sources are reporting the captive often wrote zany passages and was a follower of Ayn Rand:

Bergdahl and Ayn Rand
"Bergdahl also developed Ayn Rand–ian ideas about finding "complete freedom": On June 27, he sent an e-mail to his friends titled “Who is John Galt?,” a reference to the hero of Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged,” about individualism in a dystopian America.
I will serve no bandit, nor lair, for i know John Galt, and understand . . .” Bergdahl wrote. “This life is too short to serve those who compromise value, and its ethics. i am done compromising.”
Three days later, Bergdahl walked off his post.

On the last page of his journal, the Post reports, Bergdahl imagined "a story about one going-crazy-to wander the earth alone."

Apparently Bowe Bergdahl former POW, had a fascination with Ayn Rand and carried a copy of "Atlas Shrugged" wherever he went. It was one of the possessions he mailed home to his best friend Kim Harrison before he went missing.

The Raw Story recently published a piece that adds additional perspective on Libertarian impact on our society. Since, I have acquaintances who embrace Libertarianism, at least in part, I will not comment farther after The Raw Story piece. My over-riding point is the impact of conservatism that reaches the psyches of people who show signs of deep rooted psychological issues.

Basically, I am hearing the name Ayn Rand for more than is comfortable and her name is prevalent based on philosophies other than her commendable writings on civil rights.

Salon published a piece on June 14th, 2014, that you must take a few minutes and read. You simply must do so, even if it means skipping the piece from the Raw Story posted below.

Libertarian host who inspired Vegas killers: They were ‘victims,’ murdering cops saves lives (via Raw Story )

A Koch Story And Politifact On ACA Cost While Getting Less?

We have a two-pronged piece with fissures into the Koch brothers.

If you think Democrats are wrong for highlighting the dangers of the Koch brothers, you should apply major remedial interventions to your thinking.

The brothers have a solid grip on conservative America and American Libertarians. Oh sure, many libertarians will deny the influence of the Koch's and proclaim their ultra liberal views towards governance. Well, I suggest any one who would "go-there" is either a closet conservative or a conservative who simply refuses to accept the label. They are not ultra-liberal as they...
  • align with party that doesn't give a damn about human services programs,
  • don't give a damn about cutting military spending
  • tolerate a GOP serving as a moat for Corporate plutocrats
  • they are people who make noise like a  severely hearing impaired orchestra performing at the direction of an orchestra conductor with 50/50 vision
The Kochs are anti-progressive in every sense. Through vast shadowy and secretive networks, they appear to (in various ways) fund just about every anti-progressive agenda, cause and initiative. Data maps provide clear illustration of how the networks inter-relate; we have archived many data maps like the one you are about to see and some are very extensive. We offer and anti-choice Data-map.

More secretive and in some cases non-taxed entities that work to instill towards election of candidates who will hand the Kochs status as marionette "kings."
Neither the Republicans nor Democrats have organizations that appear as data-map spider webs. Spider webs exist to ensnare.

Will we fall for strategy as delineated in the following Politifact piece?

From the Koch foundation of plutocracy to a specific strategy based in False information.

Maddow An Exposure, Cogency And Relevance Regarding The Kochs

Imagine sitting on $25 billion dollars, with a background of "spoon-fed" privilege and elitism, imbued with conservative DNA (that reaches into the John Birch Society) and having grown accustomed to pulling strings in political and social America...from behind a cloaked platform propped-up in a "money takes all " society.  The Koch brothers enjoy such a life and they long for much more behind the scenes power that could lead to a US plutocracy with each brother anointed as "king:" King David and King Charles and their "Hunger Games"(tm) environs with you and me as mere pawns for their fun and folly. Of course, we would also serve as consumers of their industrial products that would surely move to the level of monopoly once anointed "king."

The Kochs are so behind the scenes instrumental in funding and spreading their libertarian/paleoconservative, we strongly suspect no GOP politicians will govern without a Koch barometer comparable to you and me checking the temperature before heading out in the cold.  In fact, while less visible, we truly believe the Koch's stand even more prominently than Rush Limbaugh in setting facilitating conservative and GOP agenda.

That brings us to a recent Rachel Maddow segment that proves the Kochs like any politician has staff dedicated to monitoring media. Monitoring with particular scrutiny of liberal media. Back to out path to the Koch's wizards of OZ with Maddow exposing efforts to influence how liberal media reports regarding the would be Kings of Oz.  Notice Maddow;s effective use of the word, "control."

Why are such uber wealthy men so active in "re-segregatiing schools", working to defund public schools, funding to kill the ACA at over $200 million,  probable tacit approval of voter suppression, and drug testing of welfare recipients?

The answer is obvious, they wish to shape the nation in their paradigm and that means de-establishing all that is against libertarian doctrine and all that has the remote appearance of fair and open society for all. While many do not like to read such, we will not abdicate our responsibility to call-out as we clearly see it. The Kochs via their backing of the aforementioned and all things conservative by default advocate and fund a movement that places whites, men, and the homophobics as overseers of the nation with all others scrapping bottom for the meager left overs.

Maddow and her staff do not fit the mold of the Seneca Crane...

GOP Tea Party, Confederate Flag, Cruz and Palin, and Bill Moyer's Nails The Shutdown

Bill Moyers comments on the Government shutdown.

We have embedded a seven minute video of the full Moyer's essay.  Before Moyers are taking an opportunity to keyboard a few words and thoughts about the shutdown.

Our position on the shutdown has been consistent, the shutdown is the (desired) outcome of seditious acts from uber wealthy Americans via the US Congress (specifically the tea party infested House).  Many authors have written about Koch sponsored PACs and possible direct contributions to republican representatives since the election of the nation's 44th president.  Within, weeks of his taking office the nation was exposed to a full fledged obstructionist movement the Koch brothers and Dick Armey referred to as the Tea Party. It took little to no time for Fox News to jump on the Tea Party bandwagon with full promotion and free (newsroom) advertisements of Tea Party rallies.

The Tea Party movement worked according to plan. If the movement 'fathers' could turn significant numbers of voters against the president and the democratic agenda from the president, the nation would effectively move even farther to the right. A nation that is moderately right of Center is a breeding ground for plutocracy and oligarchy on the backs of  LIVs (low information voters) and fertile ground bigots and racists. Big business money flowed, uber wealthy conservatives pooled huge sums of money and funneled contributions to conservative political campaigns, and avowed racist moved their wretched social views across the gullible minds of most who subscribed to the tea party. It does'nt take much for racist to move the mindsets of people who are bigots, and it takes even less effort to influence and soil the minds of the nation's conservatives and their 92% white GOP. The prospect for those who would seek to acquire a grip on our federal government via mind altering social dogma and hatred of a president must consider LIVs a veritable field of dreams. When in US history have you observed so many white older Americans sitting in lawn and folding chairs in protest.

I will ever forget this image.

But, there is one problem.....

No Taxes, No welfare, No Food stamps, No government, No society and I am certain not one plutocrat will assist these people in vital (municipal and social) services. In some cases services may include feeding the elderly and unemployed.  It also means children from poor families have opportunity for two meals while in head start and school programs. It may also mean aid to the disabled.

Other signs and memes come to mind. Over this past weekend a alleged "conservative veterans" group and other tea party LIVs held a protests outside the White House. The event was bill as a Million Man Veterans protest; it drew in the hundreds and was laced with significant levels of racism and sedition. Take a quick look and listen...

Weekend protest video via Progressive Populist Dot Org.
In the video below, as the riot police show up, you can hear shouts of “gestapo”, “brown shirts”, and “stasi” coming from the raucous crowd. And then they laughed at them and chanted, “shame on you!”

Then there was the moment when someone clearly says, “looks like something out of Kenya.”
To see more of the infantile behavior of these Tea Partiers, watch the video below and SHARE, so that every time they want to claim that their protests are always civil and respectful, you can direct them to this video.
How about a Washington Post gallery of protest images.

We ask that you keep in mind, these people are not protesting against cuts to food aid for children. They are not protesting the impact of the shutdown on food inspections. They are also not protesting other dire consequences of the GOP Congressional shutdown of the US government. No, because protest organizers need a place for the important critical visuals associated with the protests. Hence, the appearance of two noted anarchists (Palin and Cruz) at a the World War II Memorial. Cruz has the gall to show his face, when he led the charge towards the shutdown. Palin,,,, well no additional comment.

Let's spend a minute with a protest organizer who is an obvious bigot and we suspect also a racist.

Freedom Watch's Larry Klayman makes some provocative comments to a group at the WWII Memorial. Don Lemon has more.

Did you notice the any diversity in the clip beyond one woman?
I suggest the comments from Klayman and the theme of the protest verges on sedition.
Multiple media and many internet based bloggers and internet Op-Ed writers have documented Koch brothers involvement in financial support in opposition to the ACA. History has archived Koch brother support for the tea party back to 2009. Actually, the Kochs have worked to fund anti-democratic  policies from the right since the late 1990s.  It is impossible to believe the Kochs would not find a great deal of satisfaction with the current federal government shutdown. The stumbling GOP as operatives for US plutocrats and the leadership of Ted Cruz started the movement to shut down  the government in early summer. The GOP has used "Shut it down" mantra regarding the Obama Administration as far back as 2010.
Mike Pence:
More Pence with "Shut it down" placards in the audience:
McConnell, Mike Lee and others ..."Shut it down."
Despite the seditious circus over this past weekend, and the clear fact te GOP (and its money backers) have finally secured the government shutdown they have so long relished high information voters/people know the truth.
We will now turn this piece over to one of the nation's most high information purveyors of information: Bill Moyers.
“When the president refused to buckle to this extortion, they threw their tantrum,” Bill says. “Like the die-hards of the racist South a century and a half ago, who would destroy the union before giving up their slaves, so would these people burn down the place, sink the ship.” He goes on to tell us where the “reckless ambition” of the Republicans could lead us.
"High Information" only takes an open mind. One does not have to be an intellectual. Of course, one has to be free of bondage of bias, bigotry and racism. Unfortunately, millions have bought into the GOP Southern Paradigm and have become fodder for uber wealth plutocrats.
